App Store screenshot sizes (2026)

Updated July 17, 2026 2 min read

Apple has steadily simplified its screenshot requirements. As of 2026 you no longer upload a separate set for every iPhone — you provide the largest size and App Store Connect scales the rest. Here are the exact dimensions you actually need.

The sizes you must upload

For a modern submission you need two things: one 6.9-inch iPhone set, and — only if your app runs on iPad — one 13-inch iPad set. Everything else is derived automatically.

Device classPortrait (px)Landscape (px)Required?
iPhone 6.9″ (16 Pro Max, 15 Pro Max)1290 × 27962796 × 1290Yes
iPhone 6.5″ (11 Pro Max, XS Max)1242 × 26882688 × 1242Alternative to 6.9″
iPad 13″ (Pro M4)2064 × 27522752 × 2064If iPad-supported
iPad 12.9″ (Pro 2nd–6th gen)2048 × 27322732 × 2048Alternative to 13″
Upload at exact pixel dimensions. Apple auto-scales these for smaller iPhones and iPads.
Rule of thumb: master your artwork at 1290 × 2796 for iPhone and 2064 × 2752 for iPad. If you cover those two, App Store Connect accepts your submission.

Older sizes (optional)

You can still upload dedicated sets for these if you want pixel-perfect control on legacy devices, but it is no longer required:

DevicePortrait (px)
iPhone 6.7″ (14 Pro Max, 15 Plus)1290 × 2796
iPhone 6.1″ (14, 15, 16)1179 × 2556
iPhone 5.5″ (8 Plus)1242 × 2208
iPad 11″1668 × 2388

One design, every locale

Apple lets you localize screenshots per App Store territory. Rather than re-exporting each size by hand for every language, a screenshot tool lets you design a frame once and generate every device size and locale from the same source — which is exactly what Edok Studio’s multi-frame editor and AI translations are built for.

Frequently asked questions

What screenshot sizes does the App Store require in 2026?

Apple requires one 6.9-inch (or 6.5-inch) iPhone set at 1290×2796 px, and — if your app supports iPad — one 13-inch (or 12.9-inch) iPad set at 2064×2752 px. App Store Connect automatically scales these down for smaller devices, so you no longer have to upload every size individually.

How many screenshots can I upload per device on the App Store?

Up to 10 screenshots per device size and per localization. The first 2–3 are the most important because they show in search results before a user taps through.

What file format do App Store screenshots need to be?

PNG or high-quality JPEG in the RGB color space, with no transparency and no rounded corners. Upload at the exact pixel dimensions for the device — App Store Connect rejects mismatched sizes.
